Dickinson was founded in London in 1992 by Simon Dickinson, a former Christie's Old Masters and British Pictures Director, and David Ker, a dealer in 18th and 19th Century British Pictures. In 1995, at age 28, Christian Furr was the youngest artist to have officially painted Queen Elizabeth II. Sittings took place at Buckingham Palace. The portrait was commissioned and hangs at the Royal Overseas League, St James, London. Furr continues to receive notable commissions worldwide, including recently a portrait of HRH Crown Prince Bin Abdul Aziz, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor for Westminster Cathedral and Tim Henman. He has appeared on several television shows judging and teaching Art and written a book.
