Emma Willis trained at the Slade School of Art before starting her business in 1987, designing and making shirts. In 1999 she opened her elegant and intimate shop in Jermyn Street, on the corner of St James's. Ballantyne Cashmere was established in 1921 in a small Scottish town called Innerleithen in the Borders region. The year was 1973. Molton Brown opened at 58 South Molton Street in London's Mayfair as a hair salon. The salon's name paid homage to the location and the company set out to be unique from the start. This was a London very much in love with synthetics. But here came Molton Brown: soft, individual and Natural with a capital N.
